My name is Zamiha, and RecommendAsian started out as a South Asian Women’s group on Facebook, recommending products and services to one another that are suitable for our Asian Lifestyle.
Started it because I was born and brought up in the UK, into a lovely, progressive family, and a family that integrated incredibly well into British Society and is very modern. Â However I was not in touch therefore with a lot of my heritage, and with the tapestry of Indian, Pakistani, Punjabi, Bengali and the cultural nuances of Hinduism, Islam, Sikhism and the spirituality of Reiki and Yoga and the practices of Ayurveda, I felt there was so much to explore, to learn and to immerse myself in a culture that was supposed to be mine but felt a little alien to me.
